You have chosen some great locations to visit. I'm sure you will find lots of info here.
I am a biased Edinburgher so my suggestion would be to do Day 1 EDI, Day 2 go to INV, stay overnight (a daytrip is possible by train but not recommended), Day 3 back to EDI, Day 4 GLA daytrip and back, Day 5 EDI and return.
Ideally, I'd recommend staying in Edinburgh 2 nights and in some place like Aviemore / Carrbridge for 3 nights to mix in a city stay and a close to nature stay. Let me know if you have any follow up questions.
Best of Scotland in 1 week itinerary (fully by public transport)
My Scotland travels (includes Edinburgh, Skye, Harris, Mull, Arran, Orkney, Loch Lomond, Islay, Oban, Dunoon, Speyside)
Looking forward to starting the adventure!
Welcome! Hope you enjoy planning your trip. There's certainly lots of wonderful things to see and do here in Scotland.

I was born in England and moved to the states when I was three with my parents.. My husband and I want to move to Scotland where most of my family is in a few years, he is American. I never obtained my US Citizenship and have always held a greencard on the hopes of returning one day... is this going to be a hard process? I'm not even sure what jobs we would be able to get.. we have young children as well that would be coming..
My name is Greg Salamon, and it's a pleasure to be here with you 💟
@charhall1982 have a look at https://www.scotland.org/ to help you get started
@GregSalamon Have a great time here
I've gotten a late start on this and other adventures- I'm in my 30's and I'm finally going to graduate from university next December, this trip is in part to celebrate.
I am an educator, historian, folklorist, baby linguist, and armchair anthropologist- making Scotland an obvious choice for me to visit!

In fact, I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find out more about flying drones near standing stones around the country? I've noticed that the drone flyzone guidelines have red/yellow zones, but sometimes when arriving at a spot where it is a green (ok to fly) zone, there are notices asking people not to fly drones in that area. Somehow.. when checking out social media and YouTube, drone footage of the area is captured. Do people just ignore these signs not to fly drones in the area, or are these signs only recommendations, since the official flyzone maps show it as a green (ok to fly) zone?
If someone could point me in the right direction, that would be awesome, especially with the summer coming round the corner
Thaaanks
Hope this helps!

I'm Ronan and I am a new admin for the community forum. Hoping to get some positive discussions going about Scotland during these times. What is your favorite destination in Scotland?
Excited to see your discussions!
Unfortunately, I forgot the password to my account...and the 'Forgotten Password' emails weren't sending. I'm yet to receive an email with a link to reset my password or anything. Maybe that function is broken or something? Anyway, I began to question whether I'd actually entered the right email address, and tried a couple of others I'm connected to; no luck.
The only way back seemed to be to create a new account, which I've done. @spoots is now @spootie. Only... I had a brainwave and decided to send a private message to @spoots, with my reasoning being that maybe I'd get a notification email telling me "New message in your inbox" or something.
And I did! "[visitscotland] spootie sent you a message", on the email I tried originally.
Still no sign of an automated password-reset email, so if none arrives eventually I'll probably stay on this account only. But if I do, then apologies for creating a new account, because I know having forum 'sockpuppets' is frowned upon a lot of the time on messageboards like this one. Thanks
