Edinburgh Art Festival
The Edinburgh Art Festival is one of the Edinburgh festivals that will be taking place between the 26th of July and the 26th of August 2018. It brings together artists and art lovers from all over the world to showcase some of the most impressive, powerful and moving pieces.
Venues
There are around 50 venues in the Edinburgh Art Festival, most of them are in Edinburgh’s city centre. Among the many venues that are in the city centre, like West Parliament Square and The Royal Scottish Academy of Art and Architecture; there are some venues out with the city centre that can be reached by catching a Lothian Bus like the DOK Artists Space in Leith.
Transport
Transport into the Edinburgh Art Festival is nice and simple. Just catch a bus, tram or train into the city centre. Most of the venues are in and around the city centre, so navigating from place to place is easy!
Tickets
Most events at the Edinburgh Art Festival are free exhibitions but there are some that you need to pay for, the prices for the paid events can vary, and you can purchase tickets at the venue. Browse the exhibitions to find ticket information.
Hot Tickets
There are some key works by Rembrandt being displayed between the 7th of July and 14th of October. It will be taking place in the Scottish National Gallery on The Mound in the city centre and entrance to the showcase will cost an adult £13.50 and concessions £11.50.
Top Tips
Visit the kiosk which is in the Institut Français d'Écosse, opposite St. Giles Cathedral on the Royal Mile. Here you can pick up a festival map, browse merchandise and learn about all of the exhibitions taking place across the city.
