Edinburgh B&B and Public Transport on Royal Tattoo Night

We are trying to find a B&B just outside on Edinburgh for one night.  We plan to attend the Royal Military Tattoo at the castle in August.  We don't think its wise to bring our rental car into the city that evening (unless there is reasonable parking cost nearby).  So we need to understand two things:  (1) What public transport are available after the show to take us back to our accommodation ?. (2) Which suburbs around Edinburgh would we find good B&B for one night, taking into account that we will be using public transport to and from to the city after for the show. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

Hi @cammot, I don't think it's wise for you to bring the rental car into the city on tattoo night as it will be absolutely packed and it will probably cost you quite a bit!

Edinburgh's public transport is really, very good from getting to and from the city centre to all the suburbs.  I live west to the city and I have several buses and a tram line that can take me to the city centre.

Once you're here, to help you with public transport, download the Lothian Bus and Tram app if you have a smartphone (it's free) and will help you choose a bus/tram route depending on where you want to go!

    Hope this helps!
