I was at the Mary Queen of Scots Festival in Kinross at the weekend.  It's a fantastic two-day event.

There was a historic encampment, jousting, food & drink, live music, storytelling, talks and more.  I can't wait for 2018's event.

i wrote a blog about the festival and Kinross if anyone's interested.

I'm just back from TRNSMT this year!  I went on Saturday and Sunday and saw so many top acts!

I kicked off seeing local band The Snuts, who were top class.  Then I watched Gerry Cinnamon and Courteeners before the massive headline set from Liam Gallagher!

Here's Gerry Cinnamon playing to a crowd 3 or 4x the size he played to last time he was at TRNSMT!  He was fantastic and a real, raw Scottish talent.  He gets the crowd bouncing with simply just a drum machine, acoustic guitar and his voice.

Liam Gallagher closed the Saturday night with an incredible set infused with old Oasis classics and some of his new solo music.  It was absolutely incredible to see him live, something that I have wanted to do for a long, long time.

On the Sunday, I watched Blossoms and Arctic Monkeys.  Blossoms I was seeing for the 2nd time and my 3rd time for Arctic Monkeys (my favourite band).

Blossoms blew the crowd away with a sensational performance, their set was a perfect balance between their 1st and 2nd albums and had people singing and dancing along all the way through.  Watch the opening song to their set, There's A Reason Why (I Never Returned Your Calls) here!  I was also lucky enough to meet 2 of the band members after their set!  Joe, the drummer of the band and Josh who is the lead guitarist.

The main event, though (or at least for me), was Arctic Monkeys on the Sunday night.  They were incredible and, as always, did not disappoint!  They smoothly intergrated their new space rock style in with their council estate, teenage angst indie rock.  Every single song was a crowd pleaser and I would live it all again if I could.  Like usual, they brought out Miles Kane to play 505, but you can watch a video of them performing Star Treatment, from their new album, Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino here!

Did any of you go to TRNSMT?  If so, who was your favourite, and are you going next weekend?
