On my way to Skye

I am traveling to Skye and will have my beach fishing rods with me and as I will have some spare time wondered if it was worth stopping en-route or just head straight to Skye? Any tips on good locations would be appreciated, I was thinking of getting bait in Fort William and maybe over-nighting in Applecross but if the fishing is better on Skye I might just carry on. Thanks R

Hi @Tindooi!    As you travel northwards through Scotland you will find lots of sea lochs which offer some great fishing.  When you reach Fort William, Loch Linnhe is a good sea fishing loch and Corpach (just west of Fort William) is  a popular spot with fishermen.  Another top tip would be to check with the local fishing tackle shop (on High Street) as they will be sure to know of some great local spots in that region.    In saying that, Skye is one of the best sea fishing locations in Scotland and this website may provide you with some useful information about sea fishing on the island.  Applecross is a truly beautiful part of Wester Ross and the journey through Scotland to get there is just spectacular!  I'm sure you will come across some great fishing spots along the way!   :)
