Please check out my planned Itinerary and tell me if all looks good.
Hello,
I am traveling to Scotland from Essex in June, with my partner and 4 year old daughter.
We are staying in a holiday park in Pitlochry.
I have been searching for things we can ALL enjoy and not squash too much into each day, but we don't want to miss anything out either.
So this is the Itinerary I have come up with. Feedback would be great and any suggestions on places to eat for lunch on any days would be great.
Day 1 - We are planning to leave at silly o'clock (2-3 am) and will stop off a few times on route
Essex - Callander (7.5 hours driving)
Bracklinn Falls
Hamilton Toy Museum
Pitlochry Holiday Park
Day 2 -
Pitlochry Holiday Park - Spean Bridge Monument (1.5 hours driving)
Spean Bridge - Clansman Centre (33 mins driving)
Clansman Centre - Loch Ness Centre (30 mins driving)
Loch Ness Centre - Newtonmore Museum (1 hour 20 driving)
Newtonmore - Holiday Park (50 mins driving)
Day 3 -
Pitlochry Holiday Park - Keltneyburn Smithy Gallery (16 mins driving)
Smithy Gallery - Highland Safaris, Deer encounter and gold panning (6 mins driving)
Highland Safaris - Birks of Aberfeldy (8 mins driving)
Birks - Beatrix Potter exhibition, Birnam (30 mins driving)
Beatrix - Queens View (30 mins driving)
Queens View - Holiday Park (15 mins driving)
Day 4 -
Pitlochry Holiday Park - Glencoe National Park (1.5 hours driving)
Glencoe - Glenfinnan statue (40 mins driving)
Glenfinnan - Treasures of the Earth, Fort William (15 mins driving)
Fort William - Pitlochry Holiday Park (1.5 hours driving)
Day 5 -
Pitlochry Holiday Park - Kelpies, Falkirk (1.5 hours driving)
Falkirk - Great Mares Tail (40 mins driving)
Great Mare Tail - Hotel (2 hours driving)
Thank you in advance.

On Day 3 between Birks & Birnam, stop off at the Hermitage Falls walk, a beautiful woodland path leading to a great set of waterfalls (where you'll see jumping salmon in the fall). Also visit the smoked salmon shop in Dunkeld
Day 4 seems to be the busiest of the lot but if possible, drive just a bit farther from Glenfinnan to reach Arisaig (30 minutes) to access some of Britain's best beaches (sorry Cornwall)
Hope you and your family have a great Scotland trip.
Best of Scotland in 1 week itinerary (fully by public transport)
My Scotland travels (includes Edinburgh, Skye, Harris, Mull, Arran, Orkney, Loch Lomond, Islay, Oban, Dunoon, Speyside)
Thank you
I would stop off at various points in the trip to purchase picnic supplies for lunch. Then you can just pull over someplace with an amazing view and enjoy!!
I bring collapsible cooler and a knife from US in my checked baggage and we picnic every day... just buy bread, fruit, cheese, beverage of some kind, etc.
Nice way to break up all that driving!!
