scotland in the spring

i was in scotland a few years ago at the beginning of october- it was amazing, not super crowded and the weather was great!!  however, i want to plan a trip next year for the spring, what would be a good time- when does the weather start to be nice and when is it almost tourist season, but not quite (although i do want to go when everything is open).  thank you!!

@morning, the weather in Scotland, as well as anywhere in the world, can be great or terrible. It does, however, start to settle around early April. Most attractions or sightseeing places open on the 1st of April. It is still pretty quiet at this time as long as you avoid the Easter holidays. Tourism really starts from May onwards at least that is when it starts to boom.
    Best regards
