Best Route from Oban to Beith

To get from Oban to Lochwinnoch and Beith, I was considering A85 and A82 along the shores of lovely Loch Lomand, but I was told by a friend here that that road is busy with slow buses and can be dangerous. She recommended taking a route that takes the ferry to near Greenock. Does that make any sense?

@StoneSearcher  Any road has an element of danger...the road along Loch Lomond is narrow and there can be buses on it but if you take your time then I'm sure you will be fine. It's not a road to be rushed along. I'm not sure about the ferry but it would seem a bit convoluted to me.

I would tend to agree with @StoneSearcher - the fastest route is the A85 then the A82. It should take around 2 and a half hours under normal traffic conditions.
