Prebooking Necessary?

We will be driving around Scotland in early September.  Other that booking our first and last night's accommodation, is it necessary to prebook any other accommodation or can we just "wing it"?  We plan on being in Aberdeen, Inverness, Skye and Oban.  Are there local tourist offices in each city/region that can help you with accommodations?  Thanks

One of these is not like the other, I don't think you'll have too much trouble finding accommodation in Aberdeen, Inverness & Oban on the day if you use the power of the internet. Skye is generally really full in the summer and even its largest town Portree is quite small compared to the other places you mention. I personally would not take a chance with not booking my Skye stay.

@Bearamin, You will not have a problem finding somewhere to stay as long as you are not bothered what kind of accommodation you get. The quality may also not match expectation and the price is generally higher at last minute, no early bird discounts.
    Best regards

Hi @Bearamina. As said above, you must pre-book your accommodation for Skye now or as soon as possible. You can search for accommodation in Skye on our VisitScotland website.

There are VisitScotlaland iCentres in Inverness, Oban, Aberdeen and Skye; our friendly advisors will be able to book onward accommodation for you and provide you with lots of information about these areas.  :)
