Motor Caravan trip to Orkney

My wife and I are thinking of spending a couple of weeks late August driving up from South Wales through Scotland taking a ferry from the north coast to Orkney and spending a few days on Orkney before the long drive back. We'd be looking for 3 or 4 stopovers for a night or two on the way up and one or two on Orkney.Any recommendations or advice very welcome

@GarethP I know the road to and from South Wales from here in Perth all too well! The joys of the M6!! LOL
If I were you I would be looking to stop around about Moffat for your 1st night - it's not too far off your route and is a lovely wee town with an excellent fish and chip shop! Then I'd press on to somewhere just north of Perth - Inver near Dunkeld or Faskally at Pitlochry are both nice sites. Then possibly somewhere around the Black Isle/Dingwall/Dornoch before pushing on to JOG.
