Accomodations on the fly

Hello.  I'm planning a trip in September.  I'll have a car and want to wander a bit.  If I find somewhere I like will I be able to stop and find a B&B or Inn?  I'm hoping to avoid large chain hotels and a fixed itinerary.  Thanks!

Hi @Robmac, as long as don't care about the quality of the accommodation then this will not be a problem although it does depend where you are in Scotland. There are towns, like Pitlochry, with lots of B&Bs & Guest houses and there are also places with very few (where busy times will prove difficult to find something). If all else fails you may want to pack a tent
    Best regards
