Where are the best pubs in Edinburgh to hear traditional music?

Hi I have some American visitors arriving this weekend in Edinburgh and they are keen to hear some traditional music - in particular fiddles!?  Sadly don't have time to get to Shetland on this trip ... which Edinburgh pubs would be worth a visit?

    Welcome @Jaymac .

There are a few pubs in Edinburgh that will regularly have live traditional music at the weekend. However, I'm not sure if fiddles will feature. They are Sandy Bell's in Forrest Road, Royal Oak in Infirmary Street, Whiski Bar on the High Street, Royal Mile (Sunday) and Ensign Ewart on Lawnmarket, Royal Mile (Sunday). More details can be found on the Gig Guide website.

Also, the Scottish Fiddle Orchestra is performing at the Usher Hall, Lothian Road on Saturday 18th. Obviously, it's not a pub but might be another option. Tickets can be bought online or by phone. Hope that helps.
