Im quite lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world such as Argyll, it has a varied landscape from arable fields to rugged mountains.
The area is also steeped in history, with Dunadd Fort at its heart! Which is said to be the birthplace of Scotland itself and the seat of the first Kings of Scotland! And if history isn't your thing then there are many award winning seafood restaurants in the area, or just go for a stroll round one of the many forest walks in the area!
If you have visited here, let me know your experiences of the area, or if you are planning a trip here, or even to the islands then maybe contemplate driving through the heart of Argyll before boarding the ferries in Oban to experience what it had to offer for yourself

Loch Avich mornings, the largest tributary of Loch Awe

Speaking of Loch Awe, you might want to stop off at the ever popular Kilchurn Castle

And for a lesser known castle, try Duntrune Castle, one of the longest continually inhabited castles in Scotland!
