Rent Road Bikes w/ Pannier Racks?

Hi everyone,

Family and I are coming to Scotland for a 6 day bike trip through the Highlands. We're looking to rent four road bikes with racks affixed on the back for our panniers, but most bike shops in Edinburgh have told us that they only rent our hybrids with pannier racks - their road bikes don't come with any.

Does anyone have any leads on where we can find road bikes with pannier racks in the back? Ideally out of Edinburgh. Any leads would be hugely appreciated!

Thanks very much!

    Hi @jrs304

I have just asked my colleague who is a cyclist and this is what he tells me:

There may be a terminology issue here. You wouldn’t normally attach those packs to Road Bikes. It’s more touring bikes for that. If they’ve tried a lot of bike shops in Edinburgh another hire option is http://greasemonkeycycles.com/rent-a-bike/. They have locations in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling and although the bike types they have might not suit they are experts so would probably have suggestions.

Alternatively the below companies offer road bike holidays where they transport your kit. WS use really high end good road bikes too.

Hope this helps answer the question for ya :)
