Royal mile to Glasgow airport

hello all!! You've been so helpful with your ideas and helping us plan.
We are staying near the whiskey experience tmw and have a flight to catch at 1400 from the Glasgow airport.
Where is the nearest bus station for us to catch either the city link or stagecoach Saturday morning?

thanks so much!!

Hey @ThackersdoScotland, the nearest bus station is the Edinburgh Central bus station near York Place / St. Andrews square. Should take more than 5-10 minutes in a taxi in traffic. Alternatively, you can take a taxi to Haymarket where the Glasgow Citylink stops.

Just as backup, you can also take a CrossCountry train to Glasgow Central and change to one of the many trains stopping at Paisley Gilmour Street. The airport is a 5 minute taxi ride from the station.

Hope you had a wonderful Scotland trip, would love to hear about your experience!

    Hello @ThackersdoScotland

The CityLink 900 runs every 15 minutes from Edinburgh bus station to Glasgow Buchanan Street bus station and you can get straight on a shuttle bus out to the Glasgow Airport from there.

You can easily get to the Edinburgh bus station in St Andrew Square (ten to fifteen minute slow walk). If you walk down the Mound on to Princes Street and turn right along Princes Street, then turn second left on to South St Andrew Street. Keep walking until you pass the tram stop and the bus station is on your right. If you have heavy bags, take a taxi, it's only a five minute drive.

Alternatively, if you make your way down The Mound on to Princes Street and turn left instead (five minute walk), you can pick up the CityLink 900 Edinburgh to Glasgow bus at bus stop PU on Princes Street. I would recommend sticking your hand out to flag down the bus as it approaches (just in case).

    Here is the timetable:

I hope you enjoyed your time in Edinburgh and have a safe journey onwards.
