Touring the Small Isles

I am looking to do a tour of the Small Isles in late April beginning of May by staying on Canna (at campsite) for 1 or 2 nights, visit Rum for at least 2 nights & stay at Guirdil, and stay for at least a couple of nights on Eigg (probably using one of the bothies). There will be two of us with camping gear and a dog.

It would be great to hear from anyone who has done something similar and I would especially appreciate any advice on ferries and best way to schedule and plan my trip.
