Getting to Scone Palace

Is there a pleasant walk to Scone Palace from Perth city centre, or is there a regular bus service?

The Palace is two miles outside of the city center, although it looks on many maps as though you can walk along the river this is not the case. Alternatively there is a reasonably frequent bus service from South street on the number 3 or 58 bus services.
