Family fun in the Borders!
We took a trip to the Scottish Borders Donkey Sanctuary at St Boswells on Sunday (myself, hubbie and toddler daughter). Tours start at 2pm and last just over an hour. The weather was decent and it was so nice to be out in the countryside, especially when we got to meet a number of Donkeys, Ponies, Horses and Lama's along the way. You get the opportunity to feed them from a feeding bowl (to keep fingers out of harms way) and you even get to give those that are up for it a wee pat.
Most are friendly - some get a little over excited about being fed - and some are SUPER cute; especially little Ant and Dec
. It kind of gives you the feel good factor as you get to spend some quality time with the family in the great outdoors whilst also helping out a charity that is doing an amazing job. Didn't sponsor a donkey this time round but we'll be back!
I now just need to work out where to go next weekend?!
