Familytrip from Germany to Scotland (every night another accommodation)

Good day everyone!

We're planning a trip from 31th August to 6th September with my Family (5 adults). We would like to travel through scotland every day with a rental car.
We're all fully vaccinated, but how's that working with the testing on the 2nd day? We won't have any "fixed adress", as we're driving every day to another location.
Is it better to stay at least 1-3 days in the same hotel? Are we even allowed to travel through the country without knowing our results (which should at least take some hours/days)?
Does anyone have experience with shipping the test kits to a hotel? :)

Thank you in advance!

    Hi @Feyo

May I ask you a few questions first?

Have you already booked your accommodation for your week in Scotland? Or are you travelling spontaneously?

If you haven't booked your accommodation then be careful as there are many hotels / B&Bs that are no longer accepting 1 night stays due to the number of rules and regulations concerning Covid-19.

It may be better to have 3 stops in one week, rather than 7.

Yes, you are allowed to travel through Scotland. As long as you follow the Covid-19 rules of socially distancing, wearing face coverings in public areas such as buildings, trains, buses, cafes, restaurants, bars etc. Regular use of hand sanitiser is also recommended.

Are you flying into Scotland or England on arrival?

As you are all double vaccinated you will still need to complete a PCR Test latest on the second day of your journey. You will also need to do a further PCR Test within 72 hours of leaving the UK.

The PCR tests can be ordered by clicking this link PCR Tests

    Hope that helps

    Best regards

I have the same question but no answer.
How can we order a test if we don't know where we will be after 2 days ?
    Best regards.

You can order the tests online and take them with you on your journey.
All you need to do is send in your completed tests and the results will be sent to you by email.
