Best time of year

What is Scotland like in May versus September: weather, events, crowds, general mood of people living there?

Scotland is a great place to visit no matter what time of the year you come. The weather can be poor or it can be excellent any time of the year. Make sure that you pack for all weathers. The best thing to do is to pack lots of thin layers. Scotland is a very popular place to visit and if you want to see the main tourist areas then you should expect crowds (April - September) There are fewer crowds outside of these months but there are also fewer attractions that are open.
Events have been few and far between, over the last 2 years due to Covid-19 but 2022 promises to be a great year. Scotland will make up for lost time, I am sure.
The general mood of the Scottish people is always good, especially with a wee dram!

    Hope that helps
    Graeme
