What would be a good neighborhood use as home base while in Edinburgh?

Greetings all,  We are going to be spending 5 days in Edinburgh this summer and would like to know if anyone has any input on a nice, quiet neighborhood that has coffee shops, grocery stores and maybe restaurants as well.  We love to explore during the day, but like to retreat to a more relaxing environment at the days end (afternoon or evening).  I have been researching on my own and have found that the neighborhoods of Morningside, Dean Village and Stockbridge might be what we are looking for, but this is just based on what I read on the internet.  If anybody out there has any suggestions, it would be much appreciated.  Thank everyone.

  • These neighborhoods are exactly what we’re looking for, thank you so much for taking the time out of your day and sharing-much appreciated.  I will start browsing around online and comparing all of them to see which one would be the best fit and hopefully can find a rental that works.
    thanks again!
