Family trip to visit Edinburgh

hi, can anyone recommend family friendly restaurants/pubs for our visit to Edinburgh please, in February for 3 days?
Staying very near the Royal Mile, but planning to go sightseeing so will be out and about too.
Also any recommendations for us to visit with 11 and 9 year olds please - would the bus tour be worthwhile or any must sees?  (Castle is obviously on the agenda!)
thank you any advice appreciated.

Hello @Kelly11! I highly recommend the bus tour as it's an easy way to see the top sites in the city and the hop on/hop off aspect means you can do it at your leisure.

Pub-wise, Joseph Pearce near the top of Leith is great for kids and Akva is meant to be very good too. Brewhemia near the train station is also family friendly.

Depending if your kids don't mind a bit of silly/spooky fun, The Edinburgh Dungeons is a pretty fun experience and it's right in the central city. They also might like the Museum of Childhood or a visit to Dynamic Earth for interactive exhibits etc.  Our National Museum of Scotland also has some family friendly rooms too!

    Hope this helps :)
