Proper papers for extended stay

I will visit Scotland for the second time next year and need some info on proper papers for extended stay. I will be visiting for a month. Will my passport be sufficient or will additional papers be needed? If so, I need to get started on obtaining them. :)

Hi @Diana - a tourist visa is not required for US passport holders for a stay of up to 6 months - so a one month visit to our shores will be no problem :)

Thank you Kiwi. There are so many beautiful places in Scotland. I will be traveling two weeks along the east coast in April searching for the perfect place for a lengthy stay. What a difficult decision. Right now Inverness and Falkirk are tied for first place. :) :) :)
