What to see and do around Gairloch?

eilidh__cameroneilidh__cameron VisitScotland Ambassador ✭✭✭
Hello  :)

I'm going to be staying in Gairloch for two nights at the beginning of September and I am wondering if anyone knows any hidden gems around that area? I'm travelling up from Argyll so any good spots en-route would be good to hear about too. (I obviously know about Glencoe, Ben Nevis/ Glen Nevis and the other famous places :p

I am predominately interested in walking and photography so any recommendations there would be greatly appreciated! Or if there are any good places to spot wildlife? I would love to see whales and dolphins or even otters.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey @VisitScotlandLiam, That is really helpful thank you very much. I'm definitely going to look into the route in more detail, I'm guessing these two Lochs are worth stopping at?

I was hoping to Visit the Gruinard Bay area so it's good to know that there are walks around there :)

Thanks again for your help :)

    Hello @Smidge

These suggestions are brilliant thank you, I'll need to look into these places in more detail. I did have my eye on Corrieshallach and the Big Sands so good to hear you think they are worth a visit!

I haven't had time so far but I am looking forward to reading your post on  that area.

    Thanks again :)

@eilidh__cameron I would say that they're worth stopping at yeah!  Never been there before personally but they looked amazing in the pictures!  I'm sure you'd be able to get some good shots!
